Unless you are taking pictures for print, the inexpensive ones now available are more than adequate for posting images to the web. You do not need sophisticated graphics programs. Most digital cameras come with software for editing the pictures that you take. Once you transfer your pictures to a directory on your computer it is a simple process to edit, crop or resize your images to dimensions that are practical for uploading to your T & A information page. Photos are best saved as jpg files.

For the sake of optimal downloading we ask that all images be no more than 150x150 pixels and 15k in size.

We recommend that fabric samples be first cropped to a 4" square before converting to 150x150 pixels. That way a viewer will get a fairly good idea of a pattern's repeat. Of course, larger repeats should be cropped accordingly and notated in the description.

One alternative to using a digital camera is to take pictures with a standard 35mm camera and have them developed to a CD. These too may be copied to a computer for editing.

Another alternative is to scan sketches of the items for sale into your computer for uploading. Just edit them to the 150x150 pixel, 15k dimensions and upload them as gif files.
